You don't take a photograph, you make it - Ansel Adams
Hi, I'm Tushar Pawar, founder of Studio11Works. I have been "making" photographs for the past 6 years now. The first camera I got was my brother's Nikon D40. Being a novice himself, he didn't use the DSLR very much. I chanced upon the opportunity as I got to understand the basics from this entry level DSLR. Later on, I got myself gifted a Nikon D7000. With the comfort levels being reached already for the Nikon use, I started taking up nature photography seriously. Nature photography is so easy yet difficult - easy because you don't have to ask it to pose and difficult because you have to be at the right place at the right time. I also explored Landscapes, wildlife, portrait, macro, wedding, and other events. My kit now includes almost all the basic lenses required for all kinds photography. My service however, is not only limited to making photographs, but to also get them printed in various forms and making the most of them. More can be found at : my services. I also like riding 2 wheelers, trekking , playing guitar & listening to music.
The story so far...
I have been always thinking that for making a good photograph you don't need an expensive equipment. Yes, its true. First time ever, when my friend used to take photographs using his mobile phone, I was amazed to see such a small gadget doing wonders with such a small sensor. However, I started using his mobile phone for capturing some photographs which suddenly had everyone amazed. Then on, my friends used to give me their phones to take their pictures. With practice comes, perfection - they say. I was getting enough practice with a small gadget that too without wasting a single penny!! I made a point to buy myself a camera soon. Things took a different turn when my brother bought our family's first DSLR - Nikon D40! He was very careful while handling it and used to tell me to be careful too. While he didn't take much pictures, I started reading the user guide in my free time and then testing the same on the SLR. After around 4 years, I finally bought my first DSLR - Nikon D7000 with 18-55mm kit lense and a 50mm f/1.8. Having bought a 55-300mm already while I was using my bro's D40, my kit now consisted of 3 lenses 18-55mm, 50mm and 55-300mm. With the zoom lense, I used to visit Sinhgarh valley and other jungle areas near Pune, where I used to do birding. I also started taking interest in portrait photography using the 50mm f/1.8. It was when I took my kit to my first ever long bike trip - Chandigarh -Leh-Jammu-Delhi, I realised that I should have got a wide angle lense too for landscapes. I got my self one- Nikkor 12-24mm f/4. Moving ahead, I bought a Tamron 90mm for Macro shots. With my bread and butter salary being saved to take care of my passion, it's being really tough on me sometimes, but the patience has paid off and now I have almost all the possible kit lenses which a photographer must have.
I like travelling a lot and exploring different places on my own pace. Not to mention, I like to capture all the memories beautifully in my camera and relive those precious moments later...!!
My Philosophy
"There is no good or bad photograph, every photo tells us a story, it's not just about the lighting, colors or brightness." Photography is an art, it can be practiced and bettered by oneself.
According to me, photography requires one's hardwork and patience. A photographer has a vision which he/she tries to show via his/her photographs. The picture thus portrayed should be beyond the obvious and the vision should speak for itself and make a strong effect. While one person might not like a picture, another person might like it. Its more of one's perception and how the audience connects with the photographer's vision.
My Equipment
My equipment consists of Nikon range of accessories:
I have a Nikon D7000, which falls in a semi-pro category of the DSLR range. Given 39 AF points, dual SD card slots, a 16MP sensor, in-built AF motor, and a long battery life, this camera is just so perfect for me. The lense range includes: Nikkor 18-55mm AF VR, Nikkor 12-24mm f/4.0 VR, Nikkor 50mm f/1.8, Nikkor 70-300mm VR, Tamron 90mm f/2.8. I also have Vivitar Flashgun, simpex pro flash trigger, Lights stand, umbrellas, and different backgrounds for taking portrait photographs.
